How to turn a transcript into tasks

Short answer: Paste the transcript into a chat message and ask the AI to turn it into cards. It reads the text, proposes one card per item, and shows them as a checklist in the Lists panel for you to approve before anything is added.

Steps

  1. In the Lists panel, open the list you want the new cards on: new cards always land in whichever list is currently open there.
  2. Switch to Chats, paste the transcript (or meeting notes, a bug list, a rough plan) into the message box, and ask the AI to turn it into cards: for example, “turn this into task cards.” (Cards go to the list that’s open, so there’s no need to name one in the message.) Name a stage if you want one; otherwise cards start in the list’s first stage.
  3. Switch back to (or stay on) the Lists panel. An “AI Proposed Cards” banner lists every card the AI pulled out of the text, each with a checkbox checked by default.
  4. Uncheck anything you don’t want, then click Add Selected. The cards land on the board immediately.

Notes & gotchas

  • Card tools only appear once the workspace has at least one list; create one first if you don’t have one yet.
  • New cards go to the list currently open in the Lists panel, not one you only name in the chat message; switch to the right list before you paste the transcript.
  • The AI can set a title, notes, category, priority, deadline, and starting stage per card from what it read, but it can’t attach files when creating a card; drag a file onto a card afterward if one needs an attachment.
  • The card checklist always needs your click, whatever your chat’s auto-approve tier is set to: card writes go through this separate List-panel checklist rather than the ordinary chat approval banner.
  • Turn on the Lists context skill (mode pill → skill list → Context Injectors) so the AI starts each turn already knowing your list’s stage names; it saves a lookup round-trip and makes it more likely to land cards in the right stage the first time.
