Managing workspaces

Short answer: The Manage Workspaces window is one place to see every workspace under your root folder, switch between them, and handle the housekeeping: archive, rename, recolor, export, and delete. It’s a single scrollable list with an Active/Archived split.

What’s in the Manage Workspaces window?

At the top, a Root folder section shows the current location (<root>\Workspaces), how many workspaces live there, and a button to change it. Below that, an Active / Archived tab strip (each labeled with a live count) sits next to New Workspace and Import buttons. The list itself shows one row per workspace (a color swatch, name, and a size / file-count / chat-count / last-opened line) with the active workspace marked. A footer Clear undo history button and Done close out the window.

How do I switch, rename, or recolor a workspace?

Click any non-active row to switch to it. Each row also has an Archive button and a ⋯ overflow menu (or right-click the row) with Rename, Export, a color-swatch picker, Clear undo history, and Delete.

How do I archive instead of delete?

Click Archive on a row to hide a workspace from the switcher without touching its files; its folder and everything in it stay on disk exactly as they were. It moves to the Archived tab, where Unarchive brings it back into the active list (it doesn’t automatically switch to it). Archiving is the safer default when you want a workspace out of the way but might come back to it.

How do I back up or move a workspace?

Export saves a workspace as either a .zip archive or a plain folder; pick which files to include from the workspace’s inventory before it’s bundled. Import brings a workspace back in from either an exported .zip archive (extracted as-is, since the export already curated what’s inside) or a plain folder (which goes through the same inventory picker, since a raw folder isn’t pre-curated).

What does Delete actually do?

Delete removes the workspace’s folder (via the Windows Recycle Bin, the same as any other file or folder deletion in the app). If you’re not sure, Archive is the reversible option.

Good to know

  • Row metrics (size, files, chats) are scanned on demand and cached for the session; they may show a placeholder briefly while a large workspace is being measured.
  • Changing the root folder re-scans everything under the new location; it doesn’t move or copy your existing workspaces.
